Cinema 4D

Last night, I started working on the Cinema 4D demo, which to my amazement was extremely easy to use. Still busy working and learning, until I get the full Cinema 4D softwar, which I purchased, but really impressed with it thus far.

I've got some images of the two projects I was working on last night which took about, 5 minutes each. They are, a glass and some grass which I made, which can be found on my profile.

The software is great thus far and will be doing some character modelling soon with Cinema 4D and will post progress and images, as I get started in the forum and on my blog.

Cinema 4D 11.5

I pretty much love Cinema 4D, is nice to see some of the global motion graphics heavyweights migrating from other packages over to this (have a look at some of the discussions on www.mograph.net to see what I mean.)

The new 11.5 update looks like its got some killer advances.
New Mograph dynamics makes me weak at the knees =)

It is nice and intuitive to get into but once you get to expresso stage have a look at cineversity (www.cineversity.com)

Cool SUBD modelling packages

Ive picked up another package called Lightwave 3 years ago and never looked back. If you like Subdivision modelling you should really have a look at it. What's also cool about it that it has preconfiguerd scripts you can load up for object behaviour like grinding gears and car wheel rigging. Also has an amazing render engine.

Cheers

Cinema 4D is great...

Definitely one of the easier 3d programs to get into... gets my vote and is way better suited to smaller teams or individuals... nice character tools with the Mocca system and Mograph definitely looks like a powerful thing to learn if you are doing motion graphics orientated stuff.

Hi Skabenga, Thanks for

Hi Skabenga,

Thanks for your reply.

Yeah loving it so far. Going to try some character modelling this weekend, hopefully if my wife permits, lol :) But, yeah so far it's great and is reall easy to get to grips with.

I chose Cinema 4D due to it being one of the four big 3D software tools used in the market, also for ease of use and also as a longer term goal.

Blender 3D is a great open source tool, but very difficult from my own personal experience. Open source is great but also extremely difficult to learn, and I guess that's why you pay for professional software which is easier and offer's more help and support.

My longer term plan is to get into motion graphics and animated movies etc.

Hold thumbs for me.
